You might even be surprised as to how easy potty training a puppy is. Really how easy? Well easy enough to summarize in three steps:
Three Steps in Potty Training a Puppy
1. Set up the mpuppes meals to promote the call of nature - There's a specific amount of time that a puppies digestive system needs to go through its cycle and get from meal to waste. This is different from puppy to puppy so watch the amount of time it takes your puppy to do it's business after a full meal. It may take a number of monitoring sessions to decide the general amount of time but once you get it then go on to step number two.
2. Take the potty training inside or outside - Decide if you want your puppy to do its business in your house or out of doors. Keep in mind that what is important is what is convenient to you because you can go either way. It does not make a difference if you are potty training puppies indoors or out of doors you still need to clean up after it.
3. Paper or plastic - If you're going to train your puppies to do its business indoors then you need a liberal amount of newspaper and scent spray which is available in most pet stores.
a. When your puppy needs to do its business, put down a large stack of newspapers and spray a little bit of scent spray on it.
b. Keep the puppy in the newspaper covered area and wait until it does its business. As soon as it does, let it smell the odour sprayed on the newspaper.
c. Do step b again and again until your puppy gets used to the newspaper or the scent and then it will look for one or the other the next time it needs to relieve itself.
One thing you can do when you are training the puppy to do its business out of doors is just take it out for a walk. After a while, your pup will eventually find a spot and assume the position. Do not forget to clean up after your puppy. Sooner or later when the puppy gets used to this system it will show signs of wanting to go outside when it feels the urge to commune with nature.
And there you have it three sure fire easy steps for potty training puppies. It's not expensive; it doesn't take a university degree, not even awkwardly over-priced tools - just some good old patience.
