In most cases dog aggression is a normal behavior.  It is meant as a warning in most cases, but it is really not a necessary behavior for survival anymore, so this tendancy should be channelled into some other form of acceptable behavior.Fewer dogs would be destroyed each year if more dog owners knew how to stop dog biting behavior and how to prevent aggression.

Any dog sport can be used to channel aggressive behaviors into more acceptable ones. Agility, obedience and herding are good examples.Dog sports are an excellent outlet for a dog’s aggressive tendancies both physically and mentally.

Take notes or keep a journal with your observations so that you can review them.This helps to determine exactly what you need to deal with to stop dog biting behavior.Body language is the way that dogs communicate, understand what the dog is telling you in this way.At first very subtle signs will be apparent in the ears and the face.The signals progress in intensity such as the baring of teeth and growling.

When you notice that the dog is starting to show the subtle signs of a problem, remove the dog from the situation or remove the trigger.Dogs will usually not remove themselves from these situations, you must do it.Prevent aggression in this way.

Stop dog biting behavior and deal with aggression by following the steps above.Dog sports or activities that both of you can participate in will help to channel aggressive behavior.  You should observe your dog carefully and make notes about what is causing the behavior.Once you have determined what is causing the behavior and you can easily distinguish the warning signs, remove your dog from the situation or remove the stimulus.
