Dog Training Made Easy
Sponsored linksThe number one reason why more dog owners do not get involved with training their dogs is because they perceive dog training as a tiresome, lengthy task. However, it can actually be a lot of fun, and so long as you understand that training your dog specific actions or behaviors will not happen overnight, it can become a fun pastime for both you and your pet. But, with the right information and a great attitude, your dog really could be one of the most well-trained dogs in the neighborhood. Wouldn’t it be great if you could brag about how great your dog is as opposed to complain about him or her? Every dog owner desires a dog that listens to their commands and is well behaved, but most want this to happen with no investment of time and effort. Interestingly, many seem to expect that their dog will automatically heed to their every command as if it is a natural instinct.
Unfortunately, this is not the case, and whipping their behinds with the daily newspaper will only lead to the next day’s paper used the same way. In order to have a well trained dog that does listen to your commands, you will absolutely have to gather up some correct information on different dog training tips that can help you throughout this process, or else it probably will not happen for you. Instead of looking at this as a dreaded task, look at it as an opportunity for you and your dog to become closer and while this is happening both of you will begin trusting one another much more and a special bond will begin being created as well. Dog training can be a time when you will spend a lot of time with your dog. In fact, even if your training regimen doesn’t go as planned for each lesson, you should always keep in mind that just spending time with your dog is enough to prevent behavior problems in the future. Many dog owners complain that their pets have behavior problems and obedience issues. When these cases are looked at thoroughly, we can usually find that neglect is the number one root cause. Dogs get lonely when nobody spends time with them and without enough attention, your dog will act out and try to communicate that he wants your time. So why not spend a few moments with your dog and get some training done at the same time?
Always let your dog know that you are proud of him whenever he displays a behavior that is positive. These actions do not have to be monumental feats. Anything small is worth giving your dog a pat on the back and a loving chat. The more you praise them, the more likely they will be to continue their good behavior for you. Also, have fun with your dog. Try playing catch with a ball, a game every dog enjoys. Just by instinct alone, he will learn to fetch and retrieve the ball back to you. What started out as fun, leisurely time with your dog, is also a form of dog training, even if you are just hanging out in the backyard, sipping on ice-tea, and tossing the ball back and forth to your dog. There are plenty of other examples where dog training can be implemented without going to the extremes of detailed, lengthy training protocols. You and your dog will be much happier in the end thanks to you giving him the attention that he requires and applying dog training techniques on him every single chance that you do get with him.
